Divergence (WIP)

Divergence Banner

Summary:This is Luke and Noah’s storyline the way I see it unfolding if the Boys were on cable. And, you know, the writers and owners of the show weren’t insane/chickensh*t. There is so much that doesn’t get told on the screen. Here’s what really happens....

Go Here.

One-shots:

Zen and the Art of Mayer Maintenance

What happens the first night at the Snyder house, when Noah was released from the hospital after the Zac/Zoe kidnapping fiasco. Luke has a way of making the nightmares go away. NC-17.

Go Here.

If You're So Inclined

Based on a prompt. Luke asks Noah to help him move something for Grandma Emma and may have slightly understated the incline involved. But Noah finds out that the art of negotiation has sweet rewards indeed. NC-17

Go Here.

I had to put my two cents in about the cancellation of ATWT. If you watch the show or even support gay characters in shows, please make your voice heard.

CBS is making a huge mistake cancelling ATWT. Generations have spent time with the families of Oakdale and today is a sad day for all of us. We have followed all of the characters like they were the slightly wacky branch of our own family trees and to have that limb cut off pains us all.

We've watched the characters evolve and mature, the storylines deepen and expand to include the first gay main character and then having the courage to not leave him a loveless afterthought, giving him a love interest and a love story that has touched us all, even those whose only interaction with gay people is through watching Luke and Noah's story on this show.

CBS needs to ask themselves if whatever trashy talk show or game show they're planning to put into the hour that we all escaped into Oakdale is going to connect with their viewers like ATWT has done. The answer would be no.

P&G/Telenext, if CBS can not be reasoned with, please find Oakdale a new network home or consider making it a web soap. We're not ready to let ATWT go when there are so many stories about the inhabitants of Oakdale still left to be told.

The petition is here

Title: Divergence

Author: Escapes Rating: Just to be safe, NC 17 Pairing: Luke/Noah

Spoiler/Warning: Spoilers up through the enlistment story arc and forward/ Warnings: M/M , Language
Disclaimer: Characters belong to ATWT, P&G, CBS, etc. I'm not making money from this, don't sue, etc.
Author’s Notes:
During the whole enlistment arc in Luke and Noah's story is when I realized that the writers of ATWT are on crack. I kept thinking that I could have done so much better with the story. So I thought about it and 30 pages of outline later, I started writing. This is the result. This is Luke and Noah’s storyline from the enlistment arc forward. How I would have liked to see it unfold.

Where the hell is divergence you ask?

I have the chapter done, it was slow going due to ankle issues and not being able to sit/stand/lay in any one position for long before the damn thing started hurting. I need to edit and polish it, but it will be posted tomorrow. I promise.

In the meantime, I offer you Jeff and Mrs. S.

Laughing softly again, Lily pats Noah on the shoulder. “I’ll stop being Embarrassing Mom now. I’ll see you tomorrow. God knows there will be no putting up with my son if I’m not at the farm.”

Noah smiles at her and nods. “Yeah, it’s just easier sometimes to suck it up and do what he wants.”

Three things happened, all at once, in the next second. Jeff decides that is pretty much the worst line to say in front of Mrs. Snyder and the shocked and awed  “Duuuude, bad word choice!” is out of his mouth before he can stop it. Lily’s eyebrow climbs almost to her hairline as she bites her lip to stop the laugh, knowing that will mortify Noah even more. Noah realizes what has come out of his mouth and promptly goes so red that both Jeff and Lily are worried there isn’t enough blood in the rest of his body to hold him up.

Noah looks at Jeff, and then at Lily, before walking into the storage room without another word.

When a muted, repetitive thumping sound comes from the room, Lily looks at Jeff. “Should one of us go back to make sure he’s okay?”

Shaking his head, Jeff picks up the rag that Noah had dropped onto the table, glancing at the stain Noah had been trying to obliterate through sheer force of will. “Nah. He’s just thumping his forehead against some of the boxes in there. He’ll be fine. He does that when he gets too flustered. I do have to give you props though, Mrs. S. Usually, I’m the only one that can get him to retreat to the fortress of solitude like that.”

Sorry for any mistakes, just quickly edited and polished that part.
LOL Luke

Why would someone do this? You'd have to be hella bored to sit there and do the detail work.

Or she's got one hell of a sponsorship deal to walk around like that.

I don't know which is sadder/scarier. =)

Because you can't trust seeing is believing anymore. Not when every company has photo shop.

bad day
I came across this article about a 39 year old father and husband who lost his job and couldn't afford health care and his wife has ovarian cancer. Not something you can afford to wait on treating. Out of options to take care of his wife and family, he take the only option he can see that will give him health care. He joined the army. Now he's going off to basic training and probably off to war after that. *headdesk* I do not understand the American health care system at all.

Actually, I loathe the American health care system. It killed a friend of mine. Literally. She was unable to work because she was so sick and they wouldn't treat her because she didn't have insurance, because she was too sick to work. WTF? I was going through my mother being diagnosed with a brain tumour, having surgery to remove as much of it as they could and her year of chemo during this and it broke my heart that my mom was getting all the treatments my friend should be getting, but couldn't just because of where she lived.

To say nothing of the cost of it all. My friend was literally fundraising to save her own life. How in the hell is that an okay way to treat your citizens? What the effing F*ck???!!!

Here is the link to the article, it's a good article. It just made me sad and angry all over again.

I love fall. My allergies finally give me a little bit of a break and my favourite veggies are plentiful. For thanksgiving I made some roasted vegetables. I roasted squash, carrots, yams and red onions in a maple dijon glaze and it was so good. We have plenty of leftovers, too. Yesterday I took the leftover roasted vegetables and put them in a pot with beef stock some garlic and ginger and then blended it all us when I was done. OMFG best vegetable soup ever. If it's possible to have a soup-gasm, that soup would have done it.

Because I had my camera out, I took a shot of it. Aren't you jealous you didn't get any? =)

I love this station identification by the Discovery Channel. It always gets stuck in my head. =)

bad day
Today has not been a good day.

I was walking into work this morning, making my way from my car into the building and thinking ahead to grabbing a muffin from the cafeteria on my way through before starting my shift. That was the plan...until i pulled a pretty spectacular yard sale.

yard sale

The evidence or remains of a catastrophic wipeout, in which the victim's belongings are scattered or spread out across a large area (resembling a traditional yard sale).
definition from the urban dictionary

I have no idea what I tripped on, if it was a stone under my heel or what, but down I went and flying went my purse and work bag. Yard Sale, big time. Human reflexes are a wonderful thing. I didn't have time to register I was falling, but my reflexes still managed to get my hands down to break the fall. I have some road rash on the bottom of my palms, but it's better than knocking my head off the ground, so I'll take the road rash.

So there I sat on the asphalt, cringing at my ankle pretty much cussing me out, very loudly, the pain hadn't kicked in yet, it was more like jolt of it going WTF???!!! at me. Someone came up to me and asked if I was okay and usually I'll try to walk it off and see how hurt it is, but staying on the ground seemed like a really good idea at that moment. One of my co-workers, who is also one of our heath and safety reps came up at that point and he really took charge.

He went inside and got security, got another H&S rep and the two of them helped me into the building, while the security guard carried my bags. I mostly died of mortification and limped along. Ugh. Once they got me inside, they brought me to the health room, while one of them called a taxi to bring me to the hospital. And then we watched my ankle swell right before our eyes. Fun.

Long story, short. I got x-rayed and checked out and I sprained my ankle and pulled all the ligaments in my ankle. Or was it tendons? I can't remember. End result though, is EFFING OW!!! The doctor said I'd be in less pain if i actually broke my ankle and I believe him. My ankle is the size of a softball right now and very throbby, even with the naproxin I was prescribed.

Oh, and giving someone who was clumsy enough to sprain her ankle walking on a flat surface crutches is just cruel, kthnks. I'm going to end up hurting myself with the crutches. ugh.

i give up on this day. Is 8pm too early to go to bed?

There are certain things that should not be together. Peanut butter on hamburgers, Drive-thru funeral homes, George Bush Jr or Sr  and the Oval office.  Oh and this....

There is so much FAIL with that, that I don't even know where to start. Oh universe! FAIL!

*headdesk*

Noah oh really
But have you guys heard Adam Lambert? Christ on a cracker that kid has some pipes. Because bad singing makes me twitch, I can't say as I've ever watched American Idol, including when Adam was on, but when I heard one of his songs, I checked it out on You Tube. Wow. He does two songs that I know and like and put his own spin on them and I actually like them more than the originals. That hardly ever happens. So, I'm going to share them with you and I'd tell you if you like them to go to itunes and get them, but it seems that they've taken them off since the new season of idol is starting. Grrr.

The first is a song I know from Tears for Fears, then it was done by Gary Jules, I think and that's the version that Adam did. It actually got Simon Cowell on his feet. And no, the world did not tilt on it's axis. =)

The second is Whole Lotta Love by Led Zeppelin. First of all, this could have gone horribly wrong. You don't do Led Zeppelin unless you've got the balls and the pipes to pull it off. And good god does he. I actually prefer this to the LZ version. I'm going to put a you tube of him doing it on the show too. He was so far above the rest of the people on that show, it wasn't even funny.

Which makes the fact that the America wouldn't let the most talented person win on a talent contest of a show even more annoying. Because he's different and really anyone with half a brain cell would have figured out he was gay on the first show. Ugh. Frustrates the crap outta me. Okay, happy thoughts. On to the clip and the vid.
